Snow Days

Last week Kason turned ONE! We helped him celebrate on Saturday.
Tiana and cousin Cora.
Then on Daddy's birthday it SNOWED!! This is basically the first time that Tiana has seen snow. She was in it lots last year but was too young to remember. She woke up first (as per normal) and kept coming in and saying "Come, Wook it Mommy Wook it!" With her little nose pressed to the window, she was amazed! Of course Keaton was just SO very excited when he woke up because he loves the snow. We ate breakfast, got Camden down for his morning nap and headed outside...... this is how far Tiana got before she declared, "All done!"
Keaton of course rolled around in it and convinced her to stay outside for a while.
Of course he started eating it immediately, we couldn't get Tiana to eat ANY of it. Which is very weird coming from the girl that has NO problem eating DIRT!

She did enjoy the play set. She will like it more with her new ski gloves that I just got her.

My cute little snowmen.
She was quite concerned at first when she got snow on her mittens "Dirty Mommy, OH NO".... until she realized that Keaton really hollered when she put the snowy mittens on his face!

Then that evening Grandma and Nana came over to help us celebrate Daddy's birthday!
This year we have one more happy little camper added to the mix!

This is the best one.
Runner up.... we were all a little cold by this point!
And the two that made this all possible!

Happy 80th Grandpa Z!

Thanksgiving weekend

This was Tiana's interpretation of "standing by the wall" to take a photo of her jumper! Guess she has been doing a little standing in the corner!!

My cute kids all ready to leave on Thanksgiving. Great Grandpa Z turned 80 so we had a family reunion for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to see everyone.... talk about a LOT of little kids!
There was lots of football playing which suited Keaton just fine!
Grandma and Grandpa brought their horse and cart for rides!
We did discover that the one way to avoid over eating at Thanksgiving is to have three children three and under. I seriously got myself a roll 6 different times.... only to have it disappear into the hands of one of the kids while I wasn't looking.... EVERY TIME! And of course since I got their plates first, by the time I sat down, they were almost done so then so were we! Oh well, not like we were starving, but I was actually hungry for dinner!
Remington and Kason hanging out on Saturday.
One worn out little Camden!
Keaton did lots of playing out side, Tiana did lots of watching at the window! She was really coughing so we stayed inside.

These three are only 4 months apart! Left to right: Lincoln is Feb. Elijah is June and Tiana is May. Tiana of course towers over them but they had fun playing together.

We then spent the rest of the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Keaton got to ride a horse, which of course he was SO excited about.

Tiana helped Grandma make lunch.
Then in the evening I tried some rice cereal with Camden again....
he LOVES it!

Now he is going to sleep WAY earlier at night which is so nice. Plus he has added peaches and sweet potatoes to his diet.... both of which he loves.
Both of the kids had a blast jumping off the couch to Grandma.

Our little girl proves that the girly girl nature is inborn! As my brother says.... you can't TEACH someone how to run like a girl..... and that is something Sissy does QUITE well!
WARNING: Naked baby photos coming right up!
For both of the other kids we have a naked photo taken right about 4 months, standing on the bathroom counter. (see this post) It has been fun to compare just how chubby they each were. Now it was Camden's turn.
Laughing after Camden peed ALL over Daddy!

Just a few projects.

I had to laugh when I put this post together because I realized how many projects I was able to do this past week! My kids have been taking AMAZING naps and have been AMAZINGLY cranky the rest of the time because of their colds. Therefore I have needed the naps and sewing for my sanity!
Here is Tiana's Thanksgiving jumper. I have used this pattern lots of times and this is the last size available in my pattern..... I think I am going to have to buy the next group of sizes up because I just love the way it turns out. I just added 4 inches in length to the 24 month pattern and it fits great!
This little dress you will see again (and again) this summer. It will be a favorite because it is so comfortable. This is my own pattern!!!!!!! Yep I completely made this one up as I went! It is made out of a cheap men's XXL Gap Outlet t-shirt that we got when we were in Utah. It is so very soft and you sure can't beat the $2 price tag. She was quite impressed that there was pockets!
Not the best photos but by the time she gets up from her nap, it is dark!

This little towel is for my nephew who just turned ONE! Kason is having an owl party so I thought this would work rather well!
The eyes and beak are made out of felt and the bias tape is a scrap that I had in my stash.
This last dress will also be seen this spring and summer. I made up a sample dress to make sure we didn't want any changes made to the pattern for Mark and Kyla's wedding. The kids are in the wedding! Needless to say, we LOVE the way it turned out but for the wedding one I am adding a ruffle on the bottom, making the skirt fuller and adding a sash. The pattern was definitely workable though so it was a successful trial run. Besides the fact that this will be an adorable dress for next summer.

And here are the ties I made as a trial run for the wedding for the boys. I just used one of Daddy's ties that wasn't his favorite. Not to bad, a little time consuming but definitely cute. I will have to take photos of them modeling them when they wear them.
Next up.... a skirt for me for the wedding.... YIKES!

Camden: 4 Months

Our little guy is now 4 months old! It is hard to believe that much time has passed. He is rolling over all the time from tummy to back and occasionally from back to tummy. We started him on rice cereal again and he LOVES it! He is now getting it in the afternoon and at night. It means that he now is going to bed between 9 and 9:30 and then sleeping until 9 or so in the morning. It has been so nice having him go to sleep a bit earlier in the evening. He weighed in this month at 14 lbs 14 oz (32%) and 25.75 inches long (78%). He is still just about the happiest and giggliest baby you will ever see.
