Sewing for Summer

I completed 2 more summer dresses for Tiana today! These were easy ones that I really don't know why I have taken so long to try. I got two t-shirts from Old Navy, cut them off below the arms and sewed on some knit that I found. I am in LOVE with knit fabrics. It is so hard to find cute prints so I get them when I see them. Hobby Lobby has oh so many beautiful coordinating prints. I will have to get a few for next winter to go on the bottom of a long sleeve shirt. These turned out so cute and comfy. She loves them.
Close up of the flower detail. This probably took me as long as sewing the entire dress together!

I wasn't going to add anything to the top of this one until my Mom suggested buttons. It sure dresses it up and wow did it sure impressed Tiana!

Fun Fun! My next round of sewing needs to be all cut out so that is what I will be doing for the next few days.

Monkey Bizness

Last Friday we met Anna with Jace and Lily, Krystal with Kason, Shanna with Remington and Grandma at Monkey Bizness (an indoor play place in Boise). Anna and I often meet there with the kids to have them run some energy off. The kids get along WONDERFUL and have a blast. This time I remembered my camera.
Camden hanging out watching everything going on around him.

Keaton had the courage to go down the BIG slide all by himself. It was so cute because he went down with a FORCED smile on his face. He is still talking about it even though he old went down twice.
Then surprise surprise, my daughter, you know, the timid one, the one that if someone looks at her wrong she falls apart.... the one who says everything is SCARY..... well she loved this slide too. I took her down a few times with me but she wanted to go by herself!
Tiana, very unlike Keaton, had a look of PURE TERROR on her face the entire way down. However it didn't stop her from wanting to go down again.... and again.... until we just told her she had to be done.
Cute girls. They just love playing together.
I have been busy on the sewing machine lately. I know that my sewing time will be limited as soon as my photography gets busy again this spring, so I am taking full advantage of this slow time. My goal is to use up some of the fabric that I have leftover from other projects. So you will be seeing some familiar pieces. Love these two outfits.

Of course, I must have spring fever because all of my projects are for outfits for this summer.

Sharing Means.....

Well right now in this household, sharing is not quite so easily defined. Sharing is all about pecking order! To Keaton sharing means persuading Tiana to give him whatever he wants. To Tiana it means taking what Camden has (he is sharing with her). To Camden, well, it means using whatever he is given that nobody else wants.... which is perfectly fine by him still.
Yesterday the kids were playing in the backyard and I was watching from the window. Keaton was sharing his baseball knowledge with Tiana. Daddy had just taught him how to stand when batting so he chased Tiana all around the yard trying to give her the bat. This in and of itself caught my eye since it just doesn't look good when Keaton is yelling "Hey Hey" while holding a bat out and chasing his sister! Pretty soon though she stopped and took the bat from him (after realizing that he wasn't playing a game of chase and he wasn't going to hit her with it). Keaton then proceeds in trying to show her the correct baseball stance! He bends over and spreads her legs apart, tells her to bend her knees..... all very seriously mind you..... all the while Tiana is bopping him on the head with the bat with a huge grin on her face! Don't need to know a specific stance to just annoy your brother. She then drops the bat and off she goes! Keaton throws up his hands and decides to wait until his brother gets bigger!
Sharing is definitely a work in progress in this house.... however, when it comes to germs.... we have that sharing down PERFECT! Lots of kisses makes sharing germs very easy!

Bathtime Take 2

Well, since I for sure have decided to re-do the bathroom we had another bath photo shoot. This time with Mommy's BIG camera! I didn't want to use the flash with any of them so my camera is better for that. Anyways, I am sure you don't care about the specs! Now I just have to decide which ones to do. I am going to do one wall of all black frames in different sizes (mainly 5x7) and styles. I am going to paint the walls a color.... haven't decided what yet..... a really light turquoise..... maybe a really pale blueish gray!?!?!? Any ideas? Then have everything else black and white... towels etc. White shower curtain (with a clear liner on a separate rod) so that maybe, just maybe, Tiana will let us close them in to keep the water INSIDE the tub! (She is rather terrified of shower curtains being closed)

Today we made.....

Today we made an amazingly HUGE mess!!!! Oh yeah, and cookies! Keaton was as per normal my big helper, counting everything that went in, getting the eggs (even cracking one before I could stop him) and dumping everything in. We added the flour and he ever so helpfully turned it on....... without the lid! Needless to say flour was EVERYWHERE. Good thing we both got a big laugh out of it. He did wait until I started laughing though before he let out his giggles!
After we cleaned it all up (it was EVERYWHERE) Tiana woke up and came out to join us. There was some crushed candy in a bowl on the counter. She was trying to see what was in the bowl.... candy (powder) everywhere. She was quite worried until she realized that she was covered in little pieces of candy cane. Then it was all good, with her tongue out licking off her hands, shirt etc! All in all we made huge messes, had huge laughs, and then enjoyed cookies before bed!

First Tooth

Well, Camden finally has his first little tooth in! He was SERIOUSLY cranky today and so I decided to check the tooth situation this evening.... yep just barely poking through. The second bottom one may be through also but I couldn't quite tell.... it was close anyways. Two teeth coming up at the same time.... that explains the crankiness.
Also, a couple more things Tiana says that is cute, today it was "snowies" (snowing) and anytime she sees something interesting "wook it". She often tells us to look at this and that in the car now especially with the pacifier being a thing of the past. All of the sudden she is our talkative little girl in the backseat.

Valentine's Day

I found the cutest heart lollipops at Target and just had to do some photos of the kids for Valentine's Day. They were so fun and the kids just had a blast.

For the first time in quite a while, I got some adorable photos of Keaton. He usually doesn't want anything to do with photos but this time he was oh so cute.

We then got all the kids in for some sticky fun!

Nana had wanted a photo with the kids.... I forgot until they were all a mess!
Love this one! Camden loved the lollipop and had just HAD it with the kids sharing with Nana but not him!!
