Dining Project

I can't find where I saw this idea originally but I have been hunting down silverware in thrift stores ever since!  I had two of the frames and I got the third decorative one at Goodwill and spray painted them all cream.  I didn't know how hard it was going to be to find spoons, thank goodness my mom had a few non-matching ones.  This whole project took LOTS of coats of spray paint but was so worth it.  I wrapped the glass in fabric, put it back into the frames and then hot glued the silverware onto the fabric.  I love how these look in the dining room.

Circus and Birthday

We got a great deal on tickets to the circus Sunday evening.  In hindsight it wasn't the smartest idea to have them sit through two meetings and then a circus after all that, however, they still had fun!  The elephants were the best part and the kids loved them.

Cheeeeeese!

Last night we gave Tiana her gifts from us!
She loves My Little Pony's right now!

Another one of her favorite book characters.

A new pair of dress up shoes.  She wears them so much that she broke her last pair from stomping around in them!

She sang to herself very loudly!

Daddy stopped on the way home from work and got her some pink flowers!  This of COURSE made her day!

Closing her eyes waiting for her big present!!!

She jumped up and squealed then proceeded in yelling "My bike, my bike, my new bike etc etc"  It was adorable and we so wish that we would have had the video camera going!!

My favorite photo of Camden!!!  That pout!!!  He was throwing a poor me fit because he wanted a "my bike, blue one!"  This kid is so funny, he has to have whatever his big brother and sister have even if it is very unreasonable!  Sometimes you just have to roll your eyes and laugh!

Happy Birthday Sissy!

Three years ago we waited in the hospital waiting room all day just waiting to finally get to meet you!  Every day since then your zeal for life itself warms our heart.  You dance through life, which often times causes you to get hurt but you always get right back up and at it!  You take your asthma in stride and don't let it slow you down.  You can be a prickly pear and then the sweetest little thing all in a moments time.  These past few weeks I have gotten a picture of what it will be like to not only be your Mommy but to also be your best friend... I LOVE it!  You can't WAIT to grow up and to go to preschool, you can't wait to ride your new big girl bike... part of me says SLOW DOWN!  But seeing your eyes sparkle with each exiting moment makes me want to experience everything with you.  You have never been a cuddly little girl but that doesn't mean you aren't loving.  You are the first one to tell me that I am your best friend and that you love me SO much and those puckered lips that come at me from across the room for a kiss.... priceless!  Tiana, you are such a joy, we love you SO much, Happy Birthday beautiful!

These photos were taken in your Pinkalicious outfit!  Pinkalicious is your favorite book right now and so we are having a pinkalicious party!!

Talented Daddy

For my birthday this year, I told my wonderful husband what I wanted and he drew out the plans and made me this!!!
I don't have a sewing room right now so I have a little corner of our bedroom set up.  This works perfect to organize all of my things while keeping most of it out of reach of the kids!  Plus all that color is enough to make me wake up happy every day!!
All of my vintage buttons stored by color with some trims in the middle jar.  Then of course a place for all my scissors and seam ripper (out of reach of little fingers) and a few of my patterns that I use all the time.

Then my thread and serger thread out so I can see all of the colors.  The bottom dowels are for hanging my pattern pieces on.  When I cut out patterns I usually cut out a few since this is my least favorite part of sewing.  This way all of the pieces can be stored together until they are ready to be sewn together.  Right now I have two dresses for Tiana all cut out and ready to go for convention.  One I have started already and I love having all of my pieces hanging right there where I can grab which ever one I need next!

I love it!  It is so nice to be able to tell someone exactly what you want and have it customized to your needs!  Seeing all this makes me want to make time to sew right now!!!  Thank you to my very talented husband!  I am already thinking of other things he can build for us!!

A "cold" day at the Park

Yesterday we got out of the house so Daddy could work on organizing our garage without the "help" of the kids!  Plus Auntie Kyla and Uncle Mark were in town so we decided to have a picnic at the park... well with the cold wind we ate really fast and then played to keep warm.  The kids had fun of course at a new park!

This little guy is getting really good at climbing around by himself.  He is pretty timid so I don't have to worry about him getting himself stuck somewhere more than once!

Of course this boy is all over the place and doesn't stop for anything!!!

This is how Camden does the balance beam... scoot on his bottom.  Tiana on the other hand walked right across no problem, stepped off and proceeded in tripping over her own feet while walking on the ground... that's my girl!

Tiana thought this was so funny!  It took her a few times to realize what Uncle Mark was doing, she kept looking behind her for him!
Uncle Mark and Auntie Kyla and Uncle Derek are all moving down here in a few weeks and we are SO excited!  We are looking forward to many many more days being able to meet them at the park to play!
