Recovering

Well, those of you who check Facebook know where I have been these past couple weeks.... Besides being a Mom, chef, maid, referee, entertainer, etc my other main "job" was a pharmacist!
It all started when I took Tiana into Quick Care for a cough that wouldn't go away, only to find out that she had an AWFUL ear infection. She had no fever, wasn't cranky, didn't say her ear hurt but the doctor said that if his ear had looked like that he would have been in the ER! He also mentioned that she may be getting pink eye and to keep and eye on it. We woke up the next morning to all three kids with pink eye and bad colds. A few days later I took Camden in with a fever and he had an ear infection too. Mind you, we have NEVER had an ear infection and then within a week we had 2! The next days Camden ran a 103.5 fever every evening and night.... makes for some stressful evenings and sleepless nights. Of course the quick care doctor tells me not to give the kids any medicine for coughs. However he wasn't watching our little girl cough so hard she was throwing up and holding her upright so that she could get a little bit of sleep at night and rubbing her back while she coughed harder that any little body should have to. So I administered medicine, lots of it between pink eye prescriptions, ear infection meds, cough medicine (of course the recommended dosage based off what MY doctor gave me), and Motrin or Tylenol. It was quite the job when they all get stuff! Needless to say Camden broke out in a rash a few days ago and we discovered that he is allergic to amoxacillin..... so off to the pharmacy we went to get yet another prescription!
We are finally on the mend and I think that Monday should be our last day of prescriptions! YAY! It has been SO nice having my happy kids back... oh yeah and my good sleepers... really missed that! Why is it that whenever the kids get really sick that you are stuck going to Quick Care instead of their doctor because it is in the evening or on the weekend? At least my Quick Care is in the same medical group as my doctor so they have all of our medical records on file. However I did miss getting them in to our doctor. Tiana and Camden have their 2 year and 9 month check ups on Wednesday and it will be nice to make sure that their ears look totally better.
We do have a few photos from the last couple of days since the kids have been well again so those will be coming soon. Oh a positive note the weather has be BEAUTIFUL so we have been spending a lot of time outside letting the sun get rid of our germs!

Bear Cub

Who took my baby and left me a little bear?

Need a Laugh?

Really no explanation necessary!

Girly Girl

After nap, Tiana didn't come out of her room for awhile and this is what she was busy doing:
Love the outfit!
I had to take photos to keep it funny! Right now she has all of her summer clothes in her dresser and hung up with her winter clothes still... plus a bin of her too small clothes. She went ahead and emptied out her dresser, took everything off the hangers that she could, and started to empty the bin. She was trying things on!

First Haircut!

Keaton and Daddy needed haircuts tonight so we decided to give Camden a much needed trim also! So he got his first sucker and haircut! I had quite the audience which worked great to distract him.
He loves suckers and held it all by himself like a big boy, he didn't even mind if it got some hair on it!
Love those little toes.
Other side now. I mainly just cut the sides and around his ears.
Saying hi to the cute little boy with less hair!
He looked like a little lion at the end from all the sticky slobber that hair stuck to. We won't even mention what the bathroom looked like!!
Camden has been eating just like a big kid too! He had a pbj sandwich yesterday, loves grilled cheese, spaghetti is also a favorite, today he discovered ramen noodles and rice with chicken and peas. He does fine with baby food still if we are out and about but at home he really wants to eat what we are eating.
We have also been sleep training him. It has been going wonderful at naps, he hardly cries and goes right to sleep. Nights have been a little bit of a battle but tonight (knock on wood) he only cried for about a minute then put himself right to sleep. Last night it was almost 45 minutes before he stopped crying and went to sleep. It does work so much better though if we wakes up in the middle of the night for him to go back to sleep on his own rather than being rocked. I only did a couple early mornings because he wanted held and rocked before I said ENOUGH! He didn't want to eat but he wouldn't let me put him down! The only reason we waited was because Keaton and Camden share a room and so it makes the sleep training a little harder. It looks like we are over the worst of it now though!!! YAY!

Catch up

It seems like it has been forever since I posted on here! So catch up here we come.....
Matching shirts. Keaton is really into matching things (same color, same patterns etc) so matching his baby brother is something really special!
The middle of last month Mommy, Nana, Auntie Kyla and Camden took a trip to Portland while Uncle Mark watched the older two while Daddy worked and then they had fun with Daddy. All parties survived! Tiana learned that Uncle Mark and Uncle Derek really are not that scary, Mark learned that he had to tell them 'no' about some things (like Keaton climbing on top of everything) and the kids had a blast. Mommy had a much needed little break and came home with an early birthday present for myself!!! A new sewing machine, being that my old one, while running fine, was 34 years old and didn't have some of the features that I was wanting since I use it so much! Auntie Kyla gets the oldie but goody and I get my new Viking Husqvarna that I am getting to know. It is weird having to pull out the manual to figure out how to do ANYTHING! I do love love love it though!!!!
Anyways, we stopped by Grammy and Poppy's house on the way home. The kids had lots of fun with "new" toys (antique of course).
Camden loved this Little People airport.
We finally figured out how to have Camden enjoy the bath again.... take him out of the bath seat!! Apparently he doesn't like it. Now he LOVES bath time again.
Watching breakfast cook.
Mommy got the kids a little table and chair set at IKEA while we were gone! Keaton helped Daddy put it together. They have LOVED this. All week long they have played at their table coloring, playing with play food for their kitchen, reading books, etc. Best money spent on a kids item in a long time!
Basket!
We helped Papa celebrate his birthday this last weekend.
After we got to Nana and Papa's house I saw something bright pink peaking out from under Tiana's dress. I looked at what it was and discovered that after her nap she must have put on her tutu!! She insisted on wearing it all day under her dress! Just shows how much of a girly girl my little Miss Tiana is!
I got to enjoy a baby shower for one of my best friends (Erin) that I have known since diapers! We can't wait to meet her little girl!!! Erin, Tami and I grew up together, it is so fun to still live close to them as we are all married now.
I finally had time to set up my sewing machine and finish Tiana's bible bag! I am totally in love with this fabric and am hording every little scrap! I am going to make a dress for Tiana this fall out of it.
Little birdy. Keaton can't figure out why it only has one eye and keeps looking inside for the other one!
Little mister Camden is all over the place standing up everywhere now. He was so cute watching out the window while Keaton and Tiana played. He kept whining up at me to let him out too.

He loves putting his cheeks against the window and his tongue! Would love to get a photo of this from the outside!
I always find him playing on his knees now, bouncing up and down.
Hmmmm, am I tall enough to get that plant?
Now today I was getting Tiana dressed when I realized that I hadn't heard from Camden. Usually after I get him dressed he crawls into Tiana's room behind me. I went to look for him and this is what I found.
But Mom, it is so fun to swish the toilet paper around in the water!
Then grab some more and keep adding some!
Tonight for April Fool's Day I froze Keaton's milk and then put a little bit more on top so that it looked normal.....
He thought it was so funny. We explained what April Fool's Day is and he said that I was "very tricky!"
I then told them that this is what our dessert was! I told them that we were going to eat the dirt and there were even little worms poking out!
Tiana asked for a spoon and dug right in, no questions asked. Now you have to understand that this girl eats real dirt all the time. She really is quite the dirt connoisseur and this was declared "mmmmmm yummy".

Now Keaton on the other hand had to be force fed a single bite so that he would see that it was a joke. He liked it but still didn't find it that funny to eat dirt and the worms... NO WAY!
A few little new things. On Sunday (during morning mtg of course) Camden learned how to click his tongue! Then Wed. he learned how to make a kissing noise!
Keaton told me today that "My tummy feels very grumpy" then after lunch he said "My tummy is happy now".
I know that I definitely grew up in a different day and age when my 3 year old sees a photo and informs me "Oooo that's a cute one, we should put it on the blog!"

Camden: 8 Months

Camden is now 8 Months old and boy oh boy is he a little monkey right now! He is on the go and is always wanting down. He crawls around (very quickly) all the time now, climbing on whatever he can, and standing up on everything. He is also starting to walk around furniture rather quickly. He has discovered my potted plants.... and also loves the toy box. He just cruises around following us from room to room. He is still a very good natured baby with smiles for anyone that wants one and giggles at everything. That is actually what we struggle with the most with him in meeting..... laughing!! At least he is happy, but anything we try to do to entertain him makes him giggle. He loves his older brother and sister and just wants to be in the middle of whatever they are doing. His personal jungle gym is Mommy as well as one of his favorite people. He has definitely become more and more of a Mama's boy, he won't let just anyone hold him anymore. He will share the smiles but don't try to take him away! He is really quite sensitive also. When he gets in trouble, it doesn't take much of anything for him to just cry and cry. If he gets startled or is in a new situation, watch out! He very much reminds me of Tiana in that way. For quite a while this last month he HATED his bath! I think it was mainly because the other kids got too loud, that and he thinks he is a big boy and doesn't need his bath seat! Now that he is out of the bath seat and we remind the kids not to be too loud, he is fine. I can't believe he is getting so big. He is eating everything we are now and LOVES his sippy cup. He drinks water all the time all by himself. Can't wait to see what this next month brings.... one of the things will probably be a hair cut. He has bed head REALLY bad anytime he sleeps!

This next one looks EXACTLY like my baby photos. I often will see my brothers in him but it is hard to see myself.... until this one!
