Thank-you Time Change!

Thank-you for another hour in the evening so that in combination with amazing weather we get to do this:
After eating dinner outside in the grass we tried to fly a kite... of course the wind died down by the time we were done eating.

So we spend the remainder of the evening running down hills.

And jumping for joy!

Loving spending an hour outside with Daddy.

Daddy even got to practice his jumping!
Then Keaton had to jump over Daddy!
Tiana cringing and closing her eyes, then giggling!
Both the kids!
Showing off those chompers.
Camden has entertained himself all week by standing up on everything, he loves standing at the toy box and taking all the books off the book shelf. He has even started to walk around things. Oh yeah, and when he is in his room he has figured out how to open the drawers and take out the clothes! He is now crawling 100% of the time and getting rather quick!
We went to a birthday party and Camden LOVES cake.
Here is what I made the birthday girl. It is another Amy Butler pattern and I love it. The are two sizes of bags and this is the hand bag size..... perfect for a little girl.
I added this to the front for fun.
And the inside. I added pockets for crayons.
Now I just need to finish Tiana's. She can't wait for her "birdy purse", she has already tried to carry it around the house in it's half finished state. It will be her meeting bag.

Three's a load

Nana and Papa got back from their trip so they came over to see the kids. Three kids makes quite the load for horsey Papa!
The other thing that was accomplished this last week was another dress for Tiana. This was Hobby Lobby fabric also and although initially I liked this fabric better I ended up liking the other one the most. This one is just a cute fun casual dress from the Portabello Pixie Claire Pattern by Sandi Henderson.

She is totally poking out her little belly in this photo, it cracks me up.

The only other little update is Camden is now quite a pro at feeding himself. He ate grilled cheese this last week for dinner and just loves anything that he can pick up and eat all by himself. He also LOVES a sippy cup with water, he can drink it himself also!

Bathroom Update

I know that I have posted lots of photos of the kids in the bath.... here is what they were for! I have been wanting to re-do the kids' bathroom for a while now. However, it is also the guest bath so I didn't want something very juvenile. It all started with this little frame that I picked up on clearance. I took the frame to Home Depot and had them match the color and this is what we got:
I already had those white little boxes, I just put some paper behind to dress it up and pull in the black and white.
Our bright cheery wall of photos. All of the frames are different, which I love.
I got a STEAL of a deal on a plain white shower curtain then I dressed it up with black ribbon. I love the texture it adds to it.
Behind the door.
The best way to get the feel of the bathroom was to take a photo into the mirror!
As you walk in! Doesn't it just make you feel happy!!?

I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way that this turned out! The kids love it too. I haven't ever had Tiana stand as still as she does now for the entire time I am doing her hair every morning. She just looks in the mirror at all of the photos, talking about each one.

Camden: 7 Months

Of course these photos are a week old and so he has been 7 Months now for almost 2 weeks. Better late than never though! I can't believe that Camden is already 7 Months old. He is ALL over the place. He still alternates between crawling and army crawl. If he wants to get somewhere really fast, army crawl it is, he cruises right along. More and more every day he decides to crawl. He has gotten from all fours to a sitting position a few times but he would prefer to just not sit at all. Life is all about trying to keep up with big brother and sister. He has started to pull himself up also. His favorite thing is to climb all over Mommy! He was pulling himself up rather regularly last week until he fell a couple times. Nothing major at all, in fact he didn't even get hurt. However, he reminds me of Tiana because he gets SO scared and really cries. Now he starts standing up and changes his mind. I know he will get over it and really as far as I am concerned, he can just wait a while. I am not looking forward to the permanent bruise on the forehead stage!! He has been rather cranky lately, and I realize that when I say that he has been cranky it really isn't that bad. He just has wanted held more than usual. We have been fighting colds and now he is working on both of his top teeth. It hasn't affected his sleeping too much, he is just waking up a little earlier than normal.
He is eating like a champ. He LOVES food and more and more he is wanting to try what we have. He is starting to pick up foods with his thumb and pointer fingers. He is finally a little less orange, you probably noticed that he turned a little orange with all the baby food he eats. You really would think that he only would eat sweet potatoes and carrots but I have been really careful to give him a mixture of veggies. He likes them all. It is just REALLY hard to find stage 3 food that DOESN'T have something orange in it. I know, I know, I could make his food, but it doesn't seem like I have much extra time these days. Anyways, his skin tone is very olive colored and so it didn't take much to look a tad orange!
He still loves his siblings and pretty much is happy as long as they are playing by him. He has started to drive Keaton crazy by "ruining" everything he is playing with! Oh yeah, we have been working on signs with him and he has started to sign more while he is eating. He grins from ear to ear so proud of himself as he signs it.
Enjoy these photos!

Just to show that he isn't ALWAYS happy and smiling!

AND my favorite... shows those two little bottom teeth poking up!
Just two more things that the kids said that were cute:
Keaton while playing with Nana and Papa's dog Abby: "Can't catch me, you're a ginger pan" (Can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man)
In the van today I hiccuped Tiana kept saying "what you say" over and over again. It took me a while for it to connect. She said "say scuse me, what you say". Apparently I didn't say it loud enough for her to hear!

Beautiful Weather

I sure hope this beautiful weather sticks around now! After running errands we stopped by a park this afternoon before going home. We all have colds.... AGAIN.... so it was nice to have some happy kid time. Nothing quite like a warm sunny day with play equipment to cheer up some grumpy kids. I didn't even bring my camera because I was sure they wouldn't be awake and happy enough to stop. My cell phone worked alright though.

Keaton found these glasses today... they are WAY too small but there is NO convincing him of that. He wore them all day, inside and out! We were walking through Costco and he said, "Why it's dark in here?". Hmmmm, couldn't be the glasses. When I tried to explain to him that we don't wear sunglasses inside he wouldn't even hear it because Mommy does. I have transitions and there is no convincing Keaton that it is different. All the way to meeting tonight he wore them, even though it was dark outside! He also decided that he had to keep his mouth open the entire way. Scared Daddy to death when he glanced back and saw his mouth wide open (mind you, we couldn't tell what his eyes were doing). Daddy stopped the van hopped out to make sure he was ok and he said (with his mouth open the entire time) "I fine, I just have to have my mouth open the whole way". Not sure where he got that idea but it was quite funny. Of course being parents we had to do everything we could to see if we could get him to close his mouth! With no success, not that we had a chance, we were going up against a three year old!

Camden loves being outside. He discovered that dirt doesn't taste too bad either.

Camden has a little problem, as soon as we put him in the bathtub (about a quarter of the time) he poops. Therefore, Tiana FREAKS OUT. I am talking standing up on one foot (changing feet every few seconds) while hollering at the top of her lungs! Granted it is gross, we aren't disputing that! But she has taken it to the extreme, for a while after this happened a couple times in a row she refused to even get IN the tub. After some coaxing, distracting, bribing, and screaming we got her settled back into the routine. BUT, there better not be so much as one SPECK of toe jam in there or up she goes, standing on one foot, and she is done!!! Today while getting in the bath she gave Camden quite the lecture. "Canden, NO pooping in bath. No no Canden. No poop." She then assured Keaton, "Keaton, get in, no poop. Is ok".
The word that I am ALWAYS hearing from Keaton is "why". I understand that this is an important part of their development, but SERIOUSLY I am getting SO tired of hearing it! In meeting tonight he leans over and tells me that he swallowed his gum. I just whispered a quick little lecture of how we aren't supposed to do that. About 5 minutes later he looked at me and asked where his gum was. I reminded him that he swallowed it. He looks up at me and goes "why?". Don't think I will even ATTEMPT to answer this one. This is is the exact reason I am getting tired of his "whys"!
And not to be left out, Camden has a new little noise too. He loves making an "aaaaaaaa" noise and putting his hand over his mouth.... just like a little Indian! He tried this in meeting tonight quite a few times, even through the pacifier!

Another Dress

I just finished another dress and this one just may be my new favorite. Partly because of the satisfaction of making something up as I went. I saw a photo of a dress that I really liked for her and used part of a pattern that I had for the top of the dress..... from the sleeves down I just winged it! It turned out adorable and I am glad that I took the time to draw out a pattern for it so that I can do another one at some point.
ta-da
This will definitely be a convention dress for this summer.

I used Sandi Henderson's Claire pattern for the jumping off point for this dress. The fabric is from Hobby Lobby. I just LOVE not only the price of their fabrics but also their designs. It washed up really well and was nice to work with.
