Baby Gift

Here is the baby gift for my soon to be here little niece!  I had her mommy pick out the fabric and then went to work.  I followed a tutorial found here on Make-it-and-love-it it was very easy to follow.  I never knew how easy these little hats were to make!  I made the black and white one smaller than the pattern on the site for when she is brand new!  The pink one is for 0-6 months.

A fun little dress. I just love the way this turned out!!

Nothing new just a little onesie dress but add a sash and a flower with a vintage button and it is extra special.

The back.

And an adorable little ruffled surprise since her Mommy loves those ruffles.

The blanket.  Two layers of knit, oh so soft!

Fabric flowers to make it just a little extra special.
It isn't perfect but it IS cute!

The entire project.
On the tutorial it recommended using a walking foot (or a dual feed foot as it is called by Viking Husqvarna), well I thought, no problem, I have been sewing knit a bunch without it..... well yeah that is what I am getting with my birthday money this year!!!  This whole project was a labor of love for my sweet little niece.  Binding the little blanket alone took at least 4-5 hours and it is far from perfect.  The problem is without a walking foot the fabric only is pulled through on the bottom so the top layers don't pull through as fast.  Needless to say, I can't wait to get my walking foot so that I can try my hand at another one!

Great job! Everything is so cute! I just found the Make It and Love It website and have material to make hats but I haven't made any yet. I'm glad you said they are easy to make! Thanks for posting your pics!

I had to come by and say how lovely that gift is! I saw it on the Make It & Love It site before and just spotted your version. That is going to be one cute and well dressed (and accessorised) niece!
